A few days before this picture was taken I was life flighted to Austin, TX, still pregnant, in order to help manage my severe preeclampsia that had developed. Our daughter was born at 30 +2. This photo was the first time I got to see my daughter after a long 36 hours after giving birth.

We lived in Austin (4 hours away from our actual home) for 46 days, 42 of which Josie spent in the NICU. Finally Josie got cleared to go home! We knew this wasn't the end of the long string of traveling out of town for her appointments, but we were happy to be finally taking our daughter home.

Jo is now three years old and doing well. She has shown us that the power of prayer is real and miracles do happen. She is the whole reason we want to give back and help other families that may be going through similar situations.
